A Season for Strength: Reflecting on 2025 at Move 2 Thrive Clinic
As the year winds down and the holiday season settles in across Greater Sydney—from the Blue Mountains through Western Sydney and down to Ryde—we wanted to take a moment to reflect with you on what 2025 has meant here at Move 2 Thrive Clinic.
For many people, this time of year highlights what matters most: moving comfortably, feeling steady on your feet, and staying involved in everyday life. At Move 2 Thrive, health has never been about chasing numbers or quick fixes. It’s about helping you move with more confidence, safety, and independence—now and into the years ahead.
As we close out 2025, we’d like to share a few highlights from the year and what they mean for you heading into 2026.
Supporting Strength and Confidence in Our Over 50s Community
In November, we launched our Move 4 Life Over 50s group program, and the response from participants has been incredibly encouraging.
This program was created for adults aged 50 and over who want to stay active and independent, while managing pain or stiffness safely. In our sessions, we focus on practical outcomes that matter in daily life, including:
-
Reducing persistent aches and pains
-
Improving strength, balance, and stability
-
Building confidence with walking, stairs, and everyday tasks
For many people, the holiday period can disrupt routines and flare up old issues. If you’re thinking about starting 2026 feeling stronger and more confident in your movement, our next Move 4 Life intake begins in January.
If you’re unsure what type of support would suit you in 2026, a short conversation with an Exercise Physiologist can help clarify the best next step.
A Meaningful Milestone: Becoming an NDIS Registered Provider
One of the most important milestones for us this year has been becoming a registered NDIS provider.
What this means for you—or for someone you support—is access to funded, individualised care delivered by a team that prioritises real-world function. We now provide Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, and Dietetics services under NDIS plans for participants who are self-managed, plan-managed, or NDIA-managed.
Many of the people we support are balancing appointments, family responsibilities, and community activities across Western Sydney—from local shopping centres to neighbourhood parks—so practical, accessible care is essential.
Our work with NDIS participants focuses on goals that improve quality of life, such as:
-
Walking more safely and confidently
-
Improving transfers and mobility at home
-
Strength, balance, and falls prevention
-
Building confidence to participate in community and daily activities
We currently have availability from January 2026 for both clinic-based and mobile exercise physiology services across Western Sydney, including Penrith, Blacktown, Parramatta, and Ryde.
A Simple Health Reminder Over the Holidays: 150 Minutes
One of the simplest and most effective ways to support your health over the holidays is consistent, manageable movement.
A widely supported guideline for general health, heart health, and diabetes management is 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week.
If that sounds like a lot, breaking it down can help:
-
10 minutes at a time
-
Two or three short movement sessions spread through the day
-
Gentle, purposeful movement that fits around your life
We often remind clients that movement doesn’t need to compete with the holidays—it can support your energy, mood, and recovery during them.
Case Snapshot: Supporting a Young Person with Cerebral Palsy
Some of the most meaningful moments of our year come from the people and families we support over time.
Recently, we worked with a 13-year-old boy with Cerebral Palsy, whose family had been searching for consistent, reliable support. Through regular exercise physiology sessions, his mum shared how reassuring it felt to finally have care that focused on her son’s abilities, safety, and long-term development.
Progress doesn’t always come in big leaps—but steady, supported change can have a profound impact on daily life. Stories like this are a powerful reminder of why individualised care matters.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we move into the New Year, our approach remains the same: supporting people to move better, feel safer, and stay as independent as possible.
