How to Access an Exercise Physiologist

MOVE 2 THRIVE CLINIC Blog Posts

There are several ways to access an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. The right pathway depends on your goals, health needs, location and funding. Move 2 Thrive provides Exercise Physiology from our St Marys clinic, with mobile and telehealth options available for some services and locations.

Not sure where to start?

Start with a free 10–15 minute Health Assessment Call. We’ll learn what you’re looking for, answer initial questions and help identify a suitable next step. This is a suitability conversation, not a clinical assessment, diagnosis or treatment session. There is no obligation to book treatment.

Medicare

Your GP may refer you for Medicare-rebated Exercise Physiology under a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan if you meet the eligibility requirements. The available services, referral requirements and rebates depend on your circumstances. Older GP Management Plans and Team Care Arrangements made before 1 July 2025 may continue to support eligible services until 30 June 2027. Ask your GP which arrangements apply to you.

What happens after the free call?

If we’re the right fit, the next step may be a paid Initial Assessment and Personalised Plan. This can include discussing your health and exercise history, understanding your goals, and assessing strength, balance, fitness or movement where appropriate. We use the findings to plan suitable exercise with you.

We’ll explain the appointment, relevant fees and suitable care options before you decide whether to proceed.
